Class Descriptions
HATHA YOGA
Classical Style Hatha yoga is a progress oriented practice that weaves history, philosophy, stories and high vibe techniques that will wake up the currents that ultimately begin to push you around on the mat. You’ll find yourself in shapes you never thought you could do while wondering ‘How I’d I get here?’
Beginning with Classical Style Sun Salutations, we will move through masterfully sequenced poses that will wake up and activate your senses and allow you to move freely from one place to the next, while cultivating the process of learning which grants access to the dynamics of asana and deeper connection with the body, mind and spirt.
YIN YOGA
Yin Yoga is becoming increasingly popular as people are experiencing the benefits of these long held positions. It is the perfect compliment to any other strenous activities you do, not just yoga. A typical class consists of a sequence of poses that might focus on the hips, the spine or even the shoulders. Poses can be held anywhere from 2-10 minutes and are done in a way that allows for finding your edge and sitting in it, without trying to fix it. Relaxed muscles, calm breathing and a quiet mind all set the stage for recreating suppleness in the joints and connective tissues.
For years Denise has been including a sequence of myo-fascial release techniques prior to the yin portion of the class in order to make a more receptive body for the Yin Yoga practice.
POWER YOGA
Power Yoga is an opportunity to step outside of your practice habits and allow some new challenges to come your way.
It would be better served to call it ‘Spiralling From Your Centre of Power Yoga’, as the techniques involved support you in moving from your center, trusting your ground and allowing the rest to follow along for the ride.
Each Power Yoga class is different, and is always super fun. You are able to practice what you are currently working on with guidance and tips from Denise. Helping people get to where they want to be in a fun and safe way is what Denise does best. It’s a sweaty workout as well as uplifting and a little bit addictive.

HANDSTAND gold
Discover the available liaisons and hidden wrenches that are lying beneath the surface of your practice, and experience a fresh approach at learning poses in a way that makes them more accessible and you more confident.
The first 15 minutes or so will be about warming up.
Then we move into Handstands. Examining the shape of the pose, considering similarities in other poses, experimenting with personalized modifications, experiencing the dynamics of the pose, playing with how to move into and out of this shape, adding the breath, and connecting with the evolution of the pose.
